NL-ix acquires STHIX
strengthening Nordic interconnection and expanding its European network

NL-ix, one of Europe's leading Internet Exchanges, today announced the acquisition of Stockholm Internet eXchange (STHIX) from Glesys, a Nordic Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) provider. The transaction provides NL-ix with a strong foothold in the Swedish Internet Exchange market and marks an important step in NL-ix's strategy to strengthen digital infrastructure across Europe.
STHIX, founded in 2006, has built a strong reputation by providing resilient, neutral, and high-quality Internet Exchange services in Sweden. The local presence and expertise that have made STHIX a trusted partner within the Swedish internet community will be preserved.
By combining the strengths of both organisations, the acquisition will give STHIX’s customers access to a wider range of interconnection and connectivity products, while enabling NL-ix to extend the STHIX network to its existing customer base.
The acquisition expands NL-ix's footprint in Northern Europe and supports the growing demand for low-latency connectivity, cloud access, content delivery and secure digital infrastructure across the Nordic and European regions. Together, NL-ix and STHIX will enable customers to benefit from enhanced regional reach while retaining strong local connectivity ecosystems.

Looking ahead
The immediate priorities will be to maintain operational stability and continuity for STHIX’s customers.
Over time, NL-ix will broaden the services available to STHIX customers and make the STHIX network available to its existing customer base.
The financial terms of the transaction will not be disclosed.
