From Latency to Loyalty:
What Makes NL-ix Stand Out for ZET.NET

ZET.NET is a wholesale Infrastructure-as-a-Service provider focused on delivering the building blocks companies need to get online and stay online. That includes IP transit, Layer 2 transport, server infrastructure, and co-location services—offered across 43 data centers, mostly in Europe, with more on the way.

“We go where the customer needs us,” says ZET.NET. “On average, we’re adding a new data center location every three months.” That kind of pace reflects the growing demand for reliable internet infrastructure, something ZET.NET is seeing across industries. From ISPs, hosting providers and cloud platforms to live video streaming services, CDNs, and large enterprises, ZET.NET supports a wide range of customers who all depend on high-performance connectivity.

The company recently expanded its footprint to the U.S., opening a presence in Ashburn, Virginia. Other cities like Miami, Dallas, Los Angeles, and New York are already on the roadmap, with further rollout dependent on upcoming customer projects.

As ZET.NET grows, optimizing performance across its network is key. That’s where the connection to NL-ix comes in. Amsterdam is ZET.NET’s second-largest hub, and being connected to NL-ix there helps the company keep traffic local and reduce latency.

“Routing traffic through a third-party transit provider adds unnecessary distance and delay. With NL-ix, we can send traffic directly to where it needs to go,” they explain. “It’s a big part of how we deliver low-latency services, and our customers notice the difference.”

ZET.NET now has more capacity with NL-ix than with any other Internet Exchange. But the relationship is about more than just bandwidth. “I’ve known NL-ix for almost two decades. They’ve always been more flexible and more customer-focused than most. When we need something, they move fast—and that makes a big difference.”

That speed and flexibility are especially valuable in a market where margins are tight and expectations are high. IP transit is a competitive space. Most companies already have providers, and it’s hard to stand out. ZET.NET doesn’t have the same brand recognition as some larger players, so it leans on trust, performance, and smart engineering.

One of its key strengths is a custom-built, AI-powered software platform that constantly monitors the health of its network. “It tracks every route, detects traffic drops, and automatically shifts traffic to the best available path. It solves problems before customers even notice them.”

This proactive approach means ZET.NET can manage a large network with a small team. “We don’t need a big support department. Most issues get resolved automatically. Our engineers can focus on what really matters.”

Support response times are another area where ZET.NET has carved out a competitive edge. “We offer a 15-minute SLA. Compared to some of the larger providers, that’s significantly faster—and our customers appreciate it.”

ZET.NET is also seeing a gradual shift in customer awareness around data sovereignty and regulation. While not every client raises the issue yet, more are starting to ask about where their data is handled and how it’s protected. “It’s definitely becoming more important—especially with everything going on politically. We make sure we’re following the right steps and staying compliant.”

When asked to sum up the relationship with NL-ix, ZET.NET doesn’t hesitate: “It’s one of the best partnerships we have. Out of the 28 exchanges we work with, NL-ix consistently delivers some of the best customer service. They’re reliable, fast, and easy to work with—and that’s exactly what we need as we continue to grow.”
