DIRECT CONNECTIONS TO AMAZON AWS
Early adopters of cloud computing used the Internet to reach their platforms. But with more business critical data and workloads moving to the cloud, having a fast and predictable connection is quickly becoming a requirement for many companies.
WHAT NL-IX CAN DO FOR YOU
Most cloud providers have options for direct connections to their compute platforms at selected locations. But you may not have a presence in the same datacentre, city or even country. By connecting our network to those cloud providers we can make those direct connections available to you in any of the sites we have a presence in.
AMAZON AWS DIRECT CONNECT
AWS Direct Connect links your internal network to an AWS Direct Connect location over a standard 1 gigabit or 10 gigabit Ethernet fiber-optic cable. One end of the cable is connected to your equipment, the other to an AWS Direct Connect router. With this connection in place, you can create virtual interfaces directly to the AWS cloud (for example, to Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2) and Amazon Simple Storage Service (Amazon S3)) and to Amazon Virtual Private Cloud (Amazon VPC), bypassing Internet service providers in your network path. With NL-ix's cloud portfolio this option is available in a location of your choice.
- Predictable latency
- Guaranteed bandwidth
- Scalable solution
- Available at all NL-ix locations
- Control your own Cloud traffic
Cloud Connect consists of a port to the cloud provider and a VLL. You can combine it with other services. It is of course possible to connect to multiple cloud providers.
