NL-ix Live! Participants and IP's
Experimental Multicast VLAN for Audio and Video multicasting
For NL-ix Live! the IP range 194.246.39.224/27 has been reserved to be used as
multicast router source IP.
RFC2770 (GLOP addressing)
is used to calculate the standard reserved range of destination IP addresses
for each participant (AS number).
One can use the
Decimal-Binary conversion tool
to translate the AS number into 16 (left padded) binary and translate the high and low order octets back
into decimal to be used as the middle two parts of the standard IP address range (233.0.0.0/8).
