NL-ix Exchange - Public IPv4 Peering

The NL-ix Internet Exchange is a shared and distributed infrastructure where ISP's can negotiate peering and exchange mutual Internet traffic. Local peering improves performance and saves bandwidth and inherently money on International transit capacity.

NL-ix offers Internet Exchange connections at several Dutch datacenters. Ports are available at 100, 1.000 and 10.000 Mbit/s speeds. Access to the IPv4 peering VLAN is included in the port price.

CityLan - Dedicated VLAN's

A CityLan VLAN is a dedicated ethernet connection between two datacenter locations in Amsterdam. It can be used by an ISP, for example for easy, fast and cost-effective network expansion. But it can also be used to interconnect between two different parties, for example to buy or sell services.

The VLAN includes two 100 Mbit/s ports on any NL-ix datacenter and a dedicated VLAN between those ports that can burst upto 100 Mbit/s.

Band Market - Internet Transit Market

Band Market is a virtual community where Carrier's offer and ISP's buy Internet transit bandwidth.

Carriers connect to the Band Market on a 1.000 Mbit/s dot.1q (multiple VLAN's) trunk port. On this port the carrier can provide service to upto 1.000 ISP customers via dedicated VLAN's.

More info on Band Market for Carriers

ISP's can buy transit capacity from all carriers on the Band Market via a dedicated 100 Mbit/s ISP port. This port includes a dedicated VLAN to the carrier of choice.

NL-SIX - Native IPv6 Peering

The Next Generation Internet will be built upon the IPv6 Internet Protocol. NL-SIX offers a native IPv6 Internet Exchange platform for ISP's.It can be used instead of, or in addition to IPv4 peering. Access to the IPv6 peering VLAN is included in the port price.

NEXT - News Feed Peering

On the NEXT news feed exchange ISP's can connect their Usenet news server and exchange news feeds with other participants directly. This type of peering does NOT require full BGP peering or even routers: the news servers exchange the traffic with eachother directly over the NEXT infrastructure. Access to the NEXT news feed peering VLAN is included in the port price.
