NL-ix expands to North and South Netherlands
In its continuous effort to become a real nationwide Internet Exchange, NL-ix is currently rolling out three major backbone projects into North and South Netherlands
In the first project a new fiber is implemented from Amsterdam, via Eindhoven, into Maastricht Airport, amongst others connecting to EFX Eindhoven and Cofely Maastricht at multi 10 Gb level.
The second delivery deals with a new fiber built between Amsterdam and Rotterdam, to upgrade multi 1 Gb trunks into multi 10 Gb capacity.
The last mission takes care of a significant upgrade of the transmission equipment on a fiber to Groningen, to upgrade there to multi 10 Gb speeds as well.
