Recent stats on Packet Clearing House site look to indicate that The Netherlands has become the key Internet ´Peering Harbor of the world´
In their current ranking (14-Jan-2010) the Top 7 IXP´s (member-count) is listed as follows:
Additional analysis concludes that from the total of 662 members at
AMS-IX (393) and NL-ix (269) there are 547 ´unique´ peers, which
would make Holland indeed the key country to join an IXP and
organise peerings.
