Last Mile Access

On NL-ix many parties, listed in the Last Mile Access Community, are present which offer consumer, business or wholesale DSL, cable, Ethernet and fiber (extended) access solutions throughout the country.

Last Mile
The term Last Mile generally describes the final leg of connectivity form a communications provider to a customer, and is used by NL-ix in a broader context to describe all forms of connectivity from customer locations to datacenters where NL-ix is present.

Office Connect

Many providers in the Last Mile Community, offer access services to the business market to connect headoffice locations to datacenters or interconnect office locations. These Office Connect access services can be delivered over the NL-ix BandMarket service delivery solution. See our BandMarket Product Guideline how this solution can be composed.

For service Providers

For Last Mile access providers it is interesting to distribute services to 30+ datacenters and reaching over 240+ members without building a private network.

Wholesale

Apart from access services to the business market, many of the carriers in the Last Mile Community, also offer their services in a wholesale form, whereby providers can resell access to their own enduser customers. These wholesale services can also be delivered over the NL-ix BandMarket service delivery solution, in the same way Office Connect services at delivered.

OnePort™ concept
As almost all of our services, the NL-ix Live! and NL Routing services are delivered via the NL-ix OnePort™. This port is the basic product for all NL-ix Peering and Community solutions and can also be used in combination with the NL-ix Metro Ethernet solutions.

By purchasing an NL-ix Port, most of the Peering and Community services become available for free, and/or additional Metro-Ethernet services will be much cheaper. Speeds of 100 Mbit/s, 1.000 Mbit/s and 10 Gbit/s can be provided.
