Products

NL-ix offers low-cost 100, 1.000 and 10.000 MBit/s Internet Exchange connections at 10 Dutch datacenters.

For whom?

Our service is aimed at two groups:

  • ISP's that are already connected to a Dutch national Internet Exchange, but are interested in reducing the load on that connection or want their Dutch peering infrastructure to be redundant or want a backup facility to support their traffic during outages or even just during maintenance windows at their current exchange connection;

  • ISP's and hosting providers that do not have a Internet Exchange connection yet, and are interested in boosting their network performance and saving massively on their upstream costs.

Unique features

NL-ix is unique in it's very competitive pricing and it's coverage of multiple relevant Amsterdam datacenters; both the datacenters where most ISP's historically are located as well as newer more service oriented datacenters with better security and backup power facilities.

This combination of features finally makes a real Internet Exchange connection, with all its performance and cost savings, available for small hosting providers too.

Marketplace

NL-ix offers a marketplace page on it's website where participants and partners can offer their ISP related services like co-location, transit, etc.
In this way a provider can very easily create a low-cost best-of-breed all-in package, based on the components offered by those third parties.

Background

NL-ix was founded by the former president of the executive board of AMS-IX, Mr. Jan Hoogenboom in cooperation with the Open Peering Initiative.
